Director/Writer Kharen Harper received the prestigious Ros Bower Award for an outstanding, life-long contribution to community arts and cultural development
2007
SDT were selected as one of the eleven leading key producing organisations in the Community Partnerships division of The Australia Council for the Arts.
2005/2006
Given the Equity Trustees Not for Profit Judges Award – for Artistic Director, Maud Clark (2005) who also became a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of her work with SDT (2006)

Winner of an Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Merit Award

Artistic Director Maud Clark received the Ros Bower Award for an outstanding, life-long contribution to community arts and cultural development (1995)
In 2005 Gateway Community Health was awarded the Australia Council’s Community Cultural Development Partners Award. This award recognises one non-arts agency in Australia, which has been judged as demonstrating best practice in collaborating with an arts organisation (Somebody’s Daughter Theatre) on a community project, HighWater.
